Board of Directors

Benjamin Garcia – President

Benjamin Garcia has been an Iron County local since July 2009. He is the founding member and president of the Iron County Trail Club, established in 2019. He serves the community as a General Contractor and enjoys riding bikes year-round. Benjamin discovered his passion for biking as an adult in the North Woods when a friend introduced him to a Surly Pugsley in 2015—it was love at first ride, and he’s been hooked ever since. Shortly after, he connected with the 906 Adventure Team and their challenging “races.” His love of adventure and biking drives him to continue building trails and developing the cycling community in Iron County.

Paul Eident – Vice President

Paul Eident is new to Iron County but has been mountain biking and trail running for over 30 years.  While attending the University of Wisconsin – Stout, he purchased his first mountain bike(a green Specialized Rockhopper) in 1995 to ride around the trails near Menomonie, WI.  Up until moving to Caspian, MI in 2022, he spent 20 years running and riding the trails of Saw Wee Kee park in Oswego, IL.  Paul has been helping to build and maintain trails in Iron County since 2020 and began volunteering with the 906 Adventure Team in 2023.

Perry Sippl – Treasurer

Perry, a native of central Wisconsin, has been passionate about the outdoors since he first picked up a canoe paddle. With 35 years of experience in the biking industry, he spent 18 of those years running Chain of Lakes Cyclery in Eagle River. During that time, he helped establish the Vilas Area Silent Sports Association (VASSA) and played a key role in developing and managing trail systems throughout Vilas County. Perry enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing in the Northwoods, and kayaking or canoeing whenever he can. Having retired to Iron River nearly eight years ago, he now brings his wealth of knowledge and outdoor expertise to our board of directors.

Jefferey Davis – Secretary

I grew up exploring the trails of Pennsylvania and mountain biking with my older brother, which sparked my lifelong love for the outdoors. Now in Iron County, Michigan, I’m excited to support the Iron County Trail Club and help expand and maintain the local trails. I believe that well-kept trails not only provide great riding experiences but also encourage more people to connect with nature. Whether it’s maintaining existing paths or advocating for new ones, I’m committed to seeing the trail system grow and thrive. Mountain biking has given me countless adventures, and I hope to help others create their own.

Sean Scott – Member at Large

Sean Scott has been frequenting Iron County and the Upper Peninsula since 2014. Sean recently relocated from Chicago with his wife & daughter in late 2023. Sean’s wife grew up in Crystal Falls. Starting as a boy scout, utilizing hiking & cross country skiing trails were a big part of his early love of outdoor sports. Riding a bicycle since childhood, Sean’s first mountain biking – trail riding experiences began as a college student in southern Illinois. The terrain & topography there are very similar to that of Iron County. Today Sean is a part time competitive cyclist and has raced in several local events such as The Polar Roll, The Crusher, and The Lone Wolf Gravel Race. Sean works full time as an Industrial Designer. He currently volunteers as a group leader with 906 Adventure Team, and has recently helped in building multi-use trails Crystal Falls.

We’re looking for more volunteers to fill our board of directors.  Please consider submitting an application.
